Whatever you do, don’t sleep on SZA. The 33-year-old Grammy winner—born Solána Rowe—just dropped the cinematic music video for her smash hit “Snooze” on Friday, and it’s a chaotic dive into the honeymoon phases and messy fallouts of serial romance. Directed by Bradley J. Calder and co-written by Calder and SZA, the visual finds the “Kill Bill” singer cycling through five wildly different partners. There’s Power Book II star Woody McClain, Beef standout Young Mazino, hitmaker Benny Blanco literally eating fries and ketchup off her body, and, in a total sci-fi pivot, a robot catching a lap dance from the “Good Days” vocalist. But the cameo that really had people talking was a heavily tattooed, shirtless Justin Bieber.
The sequence with the 29-year-old pop star starts off idyllic enough, with the two chilling under a tree before taking things to a bedroom. SZA serenades a crawling Bieber as they snuggle up on a mattress, they pass a joint back and forth, and the vibe is purely affectionate until things inevitably sour. A heated argument breaks out, ending with SZA hurling a pillow at his chest. The on-screen chemistry makes sense when you remember that Justin and Hailey Bieber had a massive date night at SZA’s Los Angeles show back in March, where they were spotted singing and dancing along to her biggest hits. Fans won’t have to wait long for more live moments like that, as SZA is revving up for the second North American leg of her SOS tour, which kicks off September 20 in Miami. Plus, an extended cut of SOS loaded with 10 bonus tracks is reportedly slated to drop later this year.
While SZA is actively conquering the globe, Bieber has been plotting a much weirder, under-the-radar musical comeback. Word via TMZ is that he is currently in talks to headline the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show at MetLife Stadium—temporarily dubbed New York New Jersey Stadium—on July 19. If the deal closes, he’ll be jumping onto a genuinely massive, stadium-shaking lineup that already includes Madonna, Shakira, and BTS.
A World Cup gig actually tracks perfectly with Bieber’s recent orbit. He and Hailey were VIP fixtures at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Inglewood, California last month, where he delivered a surprise intimate performance for guests. It’s part of a bizarre, highly innovative streak he’s been on lately when it comes to live shows. Over the past few months, he’s popped up to play the Grammys wearing absolutely nothing but boxers and socks while strumming an electric guitar. Then there was his Coachella set, which primarily consisted of him providing live background vocals over YouTube videos of his own tracks.
Naturally, these sporadic stunts had fans convinced a massive stadium tour was imminent. TMZ insiders quickly killed that theory, noting that Bieber prefers doing things “in doses” right now. Sharing the stage for a mega-medley at the World Cup Final is exactly the kind of high-impact, one-and-done spectacle that fits his current approach. In the meantime, he’s perfectly content dropping raw audio to hold his fans over. Hot on the heels of releasing Swag Live From Coachella (Weekend I) last Friday, June 26, the Weekend II recording is hitting streaming platforms this Friday, July 3.
