Jin of BTS to Release New Mini Album Echo in May

Get ready, ARMY! Jin from BTS is officially making his return with a brand-new mini album titled Echo, set to drop exactly one month from now. BIGHIT MUSIC has confirmed the news, revealing that this will be Jin’s second solo mini album.

According to The Korea Times on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the album will be released on all major digital music platforms on May 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. KST (11 a.m. Indonesian time).

Echo arrives seven months after Jin’s first solo EP, Happy, which marked his much-anticipated return to the music scene following a brief hiatus due to his mandatory military service. That album was met with great enthusiasm and showcased a more personal, reflective side of the artist.

This new project, Echo, will feature seven brand-new tracks. Interestingly, the album wasn’t initially slated for a May release. BIGHIT MUSIC had originally planned for it to launch later in the year. However, Jin himself reportedly requested that the date be moved up so he could reconnect with his fans sooner — a decision that has only heightened anticipation.

To build excitement ahead of the release, a teaser video featuring Jin has been playing every 30 minutes on the massive screen at K-Pop Square in Seoul’s COEX Exhibition Center. In the clip, Jin holds up a whiteboard with the release date “May 16” written on it. He’s seen sitting against a white background, surrounded by teddy bears in shades of white, black, gray, and blue, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

With this surprise announcement, fans around the world are gearing up for what promises to be an emotional and musically rich comeback. Echo is expected to delve deeper into Jin’s signature storytelling and vocal charm, continuing his journey as a solo artist while staying true to the heartfelt essence BTS is known for.
