Beatrice Egli Forced to End Concert Early Due to Sudden Voice Loss

From Career Highlight to Unexpected Setback

Just days after celebrating a major milestone with her performance at the opening ceremony of the Women’s Euro Championship in Basel, Swiss pop star Beatrice Egli has been hit with a setback. The singer was forced to cut her concert short during a performance at the St. Peter at Sunset Festival in Kestenholz, Switzerland.

“I’ve Lost My Voice” – Egli Announces Unexpected Exit

On Thursday evening, the 2013 Germany’s Next Superstar winner had to leave the stage earlier than planned. “For the first time in twelve years, I had to stop a show,” Egli told her fans in an emotional Instagram Story. Visibly upset and audibly hoarse, she explained, “I simply have no voice left.”

The 37-year-old singer expressed deep regret over the situation, thanking everyone who came out to the festival and asking for their understanding. “I tried everything to keep going, but with every song, my voice kept fading,” she explained. “I really hope I’ll recover quickly.”

From Excitement to Disappointment

Just hours before the show, Egli had shared her excitement in a cheerful Instagram post from soundcheck. “It’s still empty, but I’m already looking forward to seeing you all,” she wrote alongside a short video showing the stage setup.

However, things took a turn during the live performance. Despite her efforts to push through, Egli had no choice but to leave the stage.

Support from Festival and Fans

A photo shared by St. Peter at Sunset organizers showed Egli smiling during the show, just before it had to be called off. “Beatrice Egli gave it her all,” the caption read. “But for the first time in twelve years, she had to cancel a concert due to health reasons—her voice was weakening with every song. We thank everyone for the great atmosphere and, on behalf of the festival and all our guests, we wish Beatrice a speedy recovery.”

The festival lineup also included performances by Melissa Naschenweng, Münchener Freiheit, and Marc Pircher, making it a notable event in the regional music scene.

An Emotional Message to Fans

In a backstage video shared to Instagram, Egli appeared visibly shaken as she apologized once more. “I hope I get well soon and regain my voice quickly,” she said. The artist, known for her resilience and energy, received an outpouring of support from fans and festival-goers alike.

The incident stands in stark contrast to the title of her latest single, “Hör nie auf damit” (“Never stop doing it”). Yet for now, Egli is taking the necessary pause—hoping to return to the stage as soon as her voice allows.
