BTS Set for Cinematic Return Ahead of Full Group Reunion

As the global music world awaits the highly anticipated return of BTS, fans will have a unique opportunity to relive the group’s most iconic moments on the big screen. In a massive global event, four of the band’s legendary concert films are being re-released in theaters, serving as a perfect primer before the members reunite for a new album and world tour next spring. The event, titled “BTS MOVIE WEEKS,” is designed to celebrate the group’s journey and reconnect their dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY.

A Journey Through Iconic Performances

From September 24th to October 5th, “BTS MOVIE WEEKS” will roll out in over 2,000 theaters across more than 65 countries, including Australia. This cinematic event will showcase four pivotal performances, each remastered in stunning 4K resolution with immersive 5.1 surround sound. The lineup offers a chronological look at the group’s meteoric rise:

  • ‘BTS 2016 Live The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage: Epilogue’: Capturing the group’s landmark first performance at Seoul’s KSPO DOME.

  • ‘BTS 2017 Live Trilogy EPISODE III THE WINGS TOUR THE FINAL’: Chronicling the tour that followed their historic win at the Billboard Music Awards, marking their launch into global superstardom.

  • ‘BTS 2019 WORLD TOUR ‘LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF’ LONDON’: Featuring their groundbreaking solo shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, where they became the first Korean act to headline, performing for 120,000 fans over two nights.

  • ‘BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO’: The 8th-anniversary online fan celebration held during the pandemic, which brought together over 1.33 million viewers from 195 countries, proving their unmatched global reach even during lockdowns.

A Shared Global Experience

This event is more than just a movie screening; it’s a chance for fans to come together and transform individual memories into a collective celebration. For many, this will be the first opportunity to experience the 2021 ‘SOWOOZOO’ muster in a shared, offline setting, turning an online memory into a real-world event. The simultaneous screenings across the globe are intended to foster a powerful sense of unity, reinforcing the “We are one” message that BTS has long championed. The high-definition format promises to deliver an overwhelming sense of immersion, making audiences feel as if they are right there in the concert venue, singing along and sharing in the collective energy.

In Australia, the screening schedule is uniquely structured. The 2016 and 2017 films will be shown individually on September 24-25, followed by a double feature on September 28. The 2019 and 2021 films will screen on October 1-2, with a final double feature on October 5.

Anticipation Builds for 2026 World Tour

The movie event comes as BTS has officially announced plans for a new album and a massive world tour in the spring, their first in five years since the ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ shows in 2021. This news marks the end of a nearly four-year period where members progressively fulfilled their mandatory military service. For fans in Australia, the hope for a tour stop is especially strong. The group’s last performance in the country was in 2017 during ‘The Wings Tour’ in Sydney. If they return in 2026, it will have been a nine-year wait.

In a statement, Big Hit Music said, “We have prepared a project that allows you to look back on the journey of BTS. We want to revive the emotion and energy of those days on the screen and share it with ARMYs around the world.”

Big Hit Music Launches Global Search for the Next K-Pop Superstars

While fans celebrate BTS’s legacy, the agency behind the phenomenon is already looking for the next generation of talent. Big Hit Music has announced its ‘2025 Big Hit Music Global Audition,’ a worldwide search for future stars. The audition is open to males born in 2007 or later, with no restrictions on the talent category, encouraging applicants to showcase their unique appeal.

Online applications are open from September 19th to December 7th via the official audition website. In-person auditions will be held from October 18th to December 7th across 13 cities, including Los Angeles, Toronto, Sydney, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul, with registration happening on-site the day of the audition.

Adding a modern twist, special pop-up events will be held in Los Angeles (The Source OC) and Bangkok (EmSphere). These will feature an AI-powered experience from Supertone, allowing anyone—not just audition participants—to compare their voice to those of Big Hit Music’s artists. “This is more than just an audition; we plan to provide a unique experience that combines K-pop and AI technology,” the agency stated. “We ask for the great interest and participation of those who dream of debuting.”
